The American Cancer Society changes its mind on e-cigarettes

The American Cancer Society (ACS) finally recognised the research in favour of e-cigarettes as smoking cessation devices.

In a statement earlier this year, they recommend that physicians support those who choose to use vaping in order to quit smoking.

In it the organisation points out that smoking kills millions of people a year and that research consistently shows that e-cigarettes are safer than conventional cigarettes. The ACS stated that they recognise that not all smokers want to use FDA approved cessations methods; but that they should still be encouraged to switch to safer options.

This is a big breakthrough for the vaping community in America and we’re hoping that more organisations will start recognising the research.
